Episode Five On 31 December 1942, HMS Achates was on escort duty protecting a Russian convey.The German heavy cruiser the  Admiral Hipper,  and six large destroyers had been ordered to attack and destroy the convoy. Despite being heavily outgunned the escort, under the command of Captain R. Vincent Sherbrooke, beat off the attack and not one merchant vessel was lost. The HMS  Achates was sunk in the Barents Sea

Episode four On April 6, 1941, Hitler's forces, in alliance with the Hungarians and the Bulgarians, invaded Yugoslavia and Greece. The people of Yugoslavia fought bravely against the Nazis , but in the end proved to be too much for them and the Yugoslav army lay down its arms on April 18.1941.
